2009 Brock French Memorial Tournaments |
The last two weekends Hobson hosted a couple of basketball tournaments in memory of Brock French, a former student at Hobson High School who died in 1993. On May 30-31 we had the tradition adult tournament however this was the first year that it was a Co-ed tournament. It was a big success and everyone had a lot of fun. This was a little different that in past years where the adult tournament has always been an all male tourney. All participants had a good time and we look forward to hosting another Co-ed tourney next year. This past weekend we added the first ever Brock French Memorial High School Tournaments with High School Girls teams playing on Saturday and High School Boys on Sunday. Teams that attended the girls tourney came from all around the state including Belt, Power, Denton, Winifred Roy, Reedpoint Rapelje, Joliet, Centerville, Manhatten, Hobson and Moore. The boys tournaments had some good competition as well including Fort Benton, Denton, Stanford Geyser, Dutton Brady, Box Elder, Fergus and Hobson. These tournaments combined have raised over a $1000.00 to give back to the Hobson students who helped make this years memorial a success as well a few community projects that will be taking place within the next year. Thanks to all who helped with the last couple of weekends to make this years Brock French Memorial another great event! Sincerely, Coach Jake Stevenson and the French's |
